Manufacturers Conference

The Manufacturers Conference is specifically geared towards top manufacturing executives in companies across the state. The conference is designed for manufacturing company executives, financial officers, plant managers, sales managers and other company decision makers. Speakers will present timely and relevant topics where participants will learn how to create an environment and culture where manufacturing will remain an economically healthy and sustainable industry.

 

Annual Summit

The South Carolina Chamber's annual meeting and premier gathering of the state's business leaders is held every fall. Special presentations are made honoring the Business Leader of the Year, Public Servant of the Year, Sgt. William Jasper Freedom Award winner, Ron McNair Leadership Award winner, S. Hunter Howard Jr. Scholarship winner and South Carolina's 25 Fastest-Growing Companies.

Excellence in Workplace Diversity Awards

The South Carolina Chamber and the Chamber's Diversity Council recognize the state's top companies in the field of diversity. All nominees are honored with a reception and dinner. The honor will be awarded to one company in each of three categories: small, medium and large.

Best Places to Work in South Carolina

October 2011 (TBA)

The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce partners with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) – SC State Council and the publishers of SC BIZ magazine for the Best Places to Work in South Carolina, dedicated to identifying and recognizing the state's most innovative and top-notch employers.

Manufacturer of the Year Awards

January 26, 2011

The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce hosts a luncheon to honor South Carolina manufacturers in each of three categories: small, medium and large. The awards are presented to outstanding manufacturers who exhibit strong economic impact, a commitment to their workforce and involvement and contributions to their communities.

Business Classic Golf Tournament

August/September (TBA)

General Assembly members, Constitutional Officers, selected public officials and business leaders are invited spend a day networking on the golf course, with prizes awarded to tournament winners.

Grassroots Meetings

August through September (TBA)

Every year, the South Carolina Chamber holds Grassroots Meetings across the state, bringing together business leaders for meaningful dialogue on legislative issues that helps develop the Competitiveness Agenda, the business community's annual list of legislative priorities.

South Carolina Business Week

July 10-15, 2011

South Carolina Business Week is a one-week summer program designed to teach up to 200 of the state's brightest high school students about the challenges facing modern business and the free market system. It provides a unique opportunity to educate these future leaders about entrepreneurship in South Carolina and help them understand what it takes for business and industry to profit and grow.

Membership and Legislative Receptions

June through August in conjunction with Grassroots meetings

From June-August, the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce hosts four receptions across the state in the Midlands, Pee Dee, Lowcountry and Upstate. These events provide a networking reception for South Carolina Chamber members and legislators.

Human Resources Conference

May 15-17, 2011

The conference provides timely and relevant human resources and employment law information regarding recent issues and trends. Participants enjoy the one-on-one interaction between speakers, attendees and exhibitors.

Washington Night in South Carolina

April 19, 2011

Held every spring during Congress' annual break, the event brings together the business community and the state's congressional delegation for a town meeting. A networking reception follows, enabling attendees to renew ties with congressional representatives, senators and their staff.

 

Safety Awards Luncheon

This program is designed to recognize companies with a commendable Lost Workday (Days Away from Work) Case Rate during the previous calendar year. All qualifying companies are recognized during the luncheon, which also features a guest speaker.

Human Resources Professional of the Year Award

Each year, the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and the SC SHRM State Council recognize the top human resources professional in the state. All nominees are honored with a reception and dinner, and the winner is announced at the conclusion of the dinner.

Business Speaks at the State House

January 26, 2011

Business Speaks provides an overview of the Competitiveness Agenda, the business community's annual list of legislative priorities, and a preview of the upcoming legislative session. Attendees can speak to House and Senate leaders in a town hall meeting. The Business Advocate Award recipients are honored, and the evening ends with a networking reception.
