SC Good Government Committee (PAC)

The mission of the SC Good Government Committee (PAC) is to promote good citizenship through the personal and financial participation of its members in the elective process at the state level of government. It accomplishes this mission by financially participating in the nomination or election of selected persons who are candidates for nomination to elective state office and who are believed to be in general agreement with this mission.

The Good Government Committee is also authorized to financially support selected elective measures. This PAC is organized and operated on a voluntary, non-partisan basis to protect, preserve and further the democratic process of the private enterprise system and in particular the protection and advancement of business and industry in South Carolina.

Additional Qualifications for Membership

The board of directors consists of the following: committee chairman; committee treasurer; committee custodian of books and accounts; two members from the $3,500 donor level; and, five members from the $1,000 to $3,500 donor level. The current South Carolina Chamber chairman and president/chief executive officer are ex-officio members if they are not registered lobbyists. The Committee is made up of 12 members.

Meeting Schedule

Meetings are called by the chair, not less than quarterly during an election year and bi-annually during non-election years.
