S.C. Chamber Releases 2010 Competitiveness Agenda

After nine Grassroots Meetings across the state and numerous meetings with South Carolina Chamber of Commerce members and business organizations, the South Carolina Chamber Board of Directors has approved the 2010 Competitiveness Agenda, the business community's list of legislative priorities. The 2010 Competitiveness Agenda will focus on key legislative issues, such as economic development, workforce development, tax reform, healthcare costs, infrastructure, secret ballot protection for workers, government restructuring and more.

South Carolina Chamber Releases 2009 Legislative Scorecard

The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce has released the 2009 Legislative Scorecard. Each legislative session, the South Carolina Chamber tracks key business roll call votes and tallies all votes to determine an overall score for each member of the General Assembly. The business community must hold legislators accountable on votes that directly impact the business climate and competitiveness of the state. In 2009, the Chamber tracked votes on a variety of issues, including tax reform, the Employee Free Choice Act, healthcare, energy policy, port restructuring and more.
